Kenner police offer free women's self-defense courses | NOLA.com

The Kenner Police Department will offer a free, three-day self-defense course for women in February. The program is taught by police officers who are certified instructors.

In addition to the latest self-defense techniques, participants will learn about the various types of sexual assault, defense against abduction and risk awareness.

The courses will be held on Feb. 18, 20 and 21, from 6:45 to 10 p.m. The program is open to any female 13 and older. Participants must agree to attend all three days of the program.
